What is Nintendo Switch Online?

Nintendo Switch Online is an online-paid membership service from Nintendo for your Nintendo Switch console. The Nintendo Switch Online membership will let you play a variety of different classic Switch games online. It also lets you voice chat with your friends, save your favorite games on the cloud, and a whole lot more!

The Nintendo Switch Online has multiple different membership types. You can choose between individual memberships or family memberships, both of which have expansion packs.

Canceling Your Nintendo Switch Online on the Nintendo Website

Here’s how to cancel Nintendo Switch Online on the Nintendo website:

1. First, go to the Nintendo Website and log in to your account if you are not yet logged on.
2. On the top-right corner of your screen, click on your profile picture and select “Settings,” or you can click Nintendo Account Website.

1. On the left-side menu, click on “Shop Menu” and then click “Nintendo Switch Online.”
2. From there, you can click on “Terminate Automatic Renewal” to cancel your membership.
3. To confirm the action, click “Terminate.”

Canceling Your Nintendo Switch Online Using Your Nintendo Switch

Here’s how to cancel Nintendo Switch Online on your Nintendo Switch:

1. From your Switch’s home screen, click/select “Nintendo eShop.”
2. Next, click/select your profile on the top-right corner of the screen.
3. From the left-side menu, click/select “Nintendo Switch Online.”
4. There, you will see on the screen “Terminate Automatic Renewal.”
5. If you’re already sure, click/select “Terminate” to confirm the action.

What Will Happen Once You Cancel Your Online Membership?

If you cancel your Nintendo Online membership, you won’t immediately lose access. You’ll be able to use its benefits until the supposed renewal date. But once it expires, you’ll lose access to its benefits and won’t be able to play your games in the online multiplayer feature. Moreover, you’ll lose all the other benefits that come with the membership, including voice chats with your friends. And if you have a family membership, everyone who has access will also lose access to the membership.

As soon as your subscription expires, Nintendo will no longer provide you with access to your saved cloud storage backup and cannot promise that it will keep these records for long.
